Mr. Wilson, this is Dr. McCoy. I understand you're one of the paramedics on this station; I'd like to speak with you as soon as possible.

( Look, they're very polite in the future. Mostly. )

I just saw a patient of yours, a Mr. Tony Stark. Said you amputated his arm and saved his life.

( He's not gonna let him sit in suspense, bc: )

Nice work.

Maybe not, but 'needs must when the Devil drives'. You're former military?

( The ahh of understanding goes unspoken here. Stark's injuries- and the scars left behind -had a definite 'battlefield medic works with what he has' vibe, but Bones won't fault him for it. His patient survived, healed, and aside from the psychological impact of losing a limb, seemed to be thriving. That's a goddamn victory. )

That answered my next question. ( ...okay he's gotta ask the niggling question now, ) Where are you from, Mr. Wilson?

( Bones considers the gulf of time between them, before the unification of Earth, back when nations were still divided, and military forces were seen as necessary the world over. The kind of stuff he's only read in historical texts.

But yeah, Sam's addressed his question, and he smirks, easing back in his seat. )

The Klingons named one of their moons "practice"; trust me, there's a fair share of sillier names out there than "moon". ( He adds, the corner of his mouth quirking up, ) I was born in Atlanta, went to Ole Miss, and it's currently 2263 back home.

Delacroix? Sure enough. You're right on the Gulf. ( Couple clicks southeast, if he remembers right. )

Never made it that far though, my friends and I were too interested in Bourbon Street. We used to make the hike down after classes on Friday and hauled ourselves back Sunday night.
